After seeing many people posting sketches from life (usually from a coffee shop), I thought it would be cool to have a single thread where people post their sketches on a regular basis. Here's a few to kick it off, I've been focusing on working only in pen because it's unforgiving

Here's a page from last weekend I just got scanned (I feel like a voyeur while drawing, but I guess that can't be helped...). I hope to see others contributing here soon

I'm hoping some others will contribute some coffee shop sketching to this thread...but here's a few more from a month or so ago to keep it going.

Great idea!!!
I'll go back to the shop soon, now that I have motivation to add to this...

Yeah, a sketch thread is a good idea. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a good implementation yet. Over on conceptart.org, they've got a whole "subforum" devoted to sketchbooks, and each person's supposed to keep to his own thread. I don't like that so much because when you have a lot of really cool artists you want to keep up with, it's difficult for a lot of people to go through the entire list of threads and stay 'current.' That said, it's necessary to do so in order to prevent confusion and chaos in a thread.
I'd like more people to post more sketches, but this thread will quickly balloon in size and take a lot of time to load (even on DSL.) That said, I'm known to be fatalistic at times. Besides, if we stick to just life sketches (for the time being,) that'll slim it down a bit.
I'll post some stuff later.

I know what you mean. I feel that I learn the most artistically from sketching actual people, but don't want to look like a weirdo or perv.

I LOVE the pieces on graph paper! The blocks and colors really make these work! Do you have any in a similar style that aren't on graph paper? Something more final?

Agremar, I like how you've integrated the nuances of a realistic drawing from life into a cartoony style. I see you working through some foreshortening situations, cool!

Frak, do you bring a whole bunch of markers to the coffee shop or do you color them at home? I like the classic pen-work. Pay more attention in bible study!!

Aaron, nice nice nice. I may be just saying this out of pride, but I felt like I'd be sketching at your level if only I hadn't abandoned art after high school

Frak! I remember seeing these! That siren is really cool, good choice of repost material. I forgot to ask last time, or maybe I just plain forgot, what did you use to color that? I said to myself, "marker" the first time, but it's got some watercolorish bleed to it.
