I thought I'd share these because I like them, I had fun doing them, and they'll probably never be finished, so what the hey! They are rough pages for an "origin" story I was working on for Delilah Dirk.
The images below are scans of the large-format, blue Col-Erase roughs I had started making for the story. The scans look crap because A) The pages were *just a tad* too big for the scanner, and B) I had to pump up the levels to make the blue lines ledgible. Even so, it's near impossible to read.
Here's how the story would have unfolded: Naive guard Selim reports to his superior. An infidel has been captured intruding on the palace. It's Delilah! Selim brings the shackled Delilah a pot of fresh tea, and Delilah is won over by the quality of the tea Selim has made. Selim reads a report to his superior on Delilah's character, handily outlining her back-story. As he finishes, an escaped Delilah smashes through a window in front of them. She runs off, and Selim is carted off to be beheaded. As he's sweating it on the block, the executioner suddenly crumples to the ground. Delilah has returned, and frees Selim! They slice through a swarm of extras, and finally escape in the crowd of the streets. Selim asks why she would save him, and she replies that he "makes good tea". They hop in Delilah's floating aeroplane machine and fly off. Ta-da.
I cleaned up the first one and realized it would make more sense to clean them up AFTER I had roughed them all out, fixing all the mistakes with a more objective view.
Here's another Delilah image I found, blessedly cleaner than these!
