This sounds horribly geeky, but the Samurai Champloo soundtrack is getting heavy rotation in my CD player right now.

The new single by Jamiroquai 'Feels just like it should'. It's great that he's got himself on the right side of the tracks and got around to releasing more kick ass music. When I was at Uni my mates and I would wander around the shops wondering when he was going to get into gear, I know a lot of people who are going to be very pleased about this! :D

What better way to celebrate this fact than with my 666th post. :D

Having a punk flashback...listening to X's Los Angeles.

Also, picked up the Bravery, Tom Vek (thanks Bluebottle), Futureheads, Notwist, Broken Social Scene, and Bloc Party....I'm gearing up to lock myself in and get some drawing done

I'm going to see Kanye West at a festival in a few weeks, so I picked up College Dropout yesterday. I see what the hype was all about. It's nice to hear a rapper talk about something other than the usual.

Ha! Wah! Nimmynimmynimmy, goodgah! Gon' break a sweat-ah!
That is awesome. Speaking of awesome legends in concert, my girlfriend's dad was telling me about a Stones show he caught in '72, on Mick Jagger's birthday. Stevie Wonder opened, and they did a closing medley of a Stevie song and Satisfaction.

Currently listening to The 'Stones Between the Buttons. Yes, I am that big of a Wes Anderson geek. No, I don't own any Nick Drake yet.

I'm pretty sure that no one on this board cares (especially since my current musical mood these days is of the purely trashy variety), but hot damn, the Junkie XL remix of the Scissor Sisters's "Mary" is absolutely blowing my mind.

Me too! I'm currently working through their 3-disc Remixes: 81...04 album. I'm always a little surprised at how well DM has aged compared to the other bands from that time.

I'm on a trip to my hometown, Bloomington, Indiana, which is way cooler than Savannah (in my humble opinion), and I've been delighted to finally be around some good cd and comic shops. Anyway I recently made the following purchases:

The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? - I downloaded it long ago, but loved it so much I just had to own it (and I'm a sucker for good packaging, as you'll soon read :P )

Lyrics Born - Same !@#$, Different Day - I'm a big Quannum fan, and Lyrics Born rules. I was hesitant when I heard he was coming out with a remix album, but got it because it sounded pretty good, and came with a dvd. Haven't watched the dvd yet, but the album is great! Also, the booklet has little notes on each track by LB himself. Too cool :D

Fantomas - Suspended Animation - Purchased soley on the amazing packaging. It's a spiral-bound calender of the month of April (my birthday month), each day illustrated by Japanese artist extrodinare Yoshimoto Nara. I figured, it's gotta be great! Haven't been able to listen to too much of it...but I'm unfortunately not digging it so far...d'oh
