Anyone got any speculation who Thomas Haden Church is going to play? I originally thought it was going to be the Lizard and the Green Goblin again. Any chance he could be a Venom?

Thomas Hayden Church would make a great Eddie Brock, so perhaps Venom will make an appearance. Not entirely sure how they'll deal with the whole alternate suit/symbiote stuff in one film, but they'll probably just change that whole thing and compress it into a short subplot to introduce Venom. I feel like such a dork.

Maybe Electro? But the tag team would need Harry as Green Goblin 2 (they've got to take that set up at the end of 2 through to completion)

Venom is cool and all, but I can't see him as a good movie villian, it'd just be so hokey on the big screen.

I heard a rumor that Jake Gillenhall was going to be playing Carnage.

But Dylan Baker was The Lizard in Spider-man 2! I would definitely like to see him return. Thomas Hayden Church should make for a fun character, I'm sure.

A Vulture storyline has some great dramatic possibilities. Church is a little young though.

I dunno... I wonder where they plan on taking this franchise in the future. They already have seeds for Manwolf, Lizardman and Harry as Green Goblin. There's definitely the possibility for two or three more movies just from the badguys they've already introduced. The movies are great and everything, but I just hope they don't overdo it with making too many.

Actually I think it would be incredible to face the entire sinister six at one time. Now that would be a great movie...maybe for Spiderman 4 or 5

Didn't Raimi say he only plans on a total of three movies?

I'm pretty sure I heard that also. I don't know if Tobey is interested in doing the movies past the third... especially if Raimi wasn't attached to it. here's where clones would come in handy... make a clone just to have the same person as Spider-Man. When a movie is done as well as the spider-men movies have, you really want to see more and more.
