Rex Navarette was a big hit when he visited manila when i was still living there, but i think he has more misses than hits, i still like his Maritess vs. the Superfriends tho :D

I am chinese but i was born in Manila:D so yea i think i am flip too:d

I gotta check our Margaret cho, Iv hear a lot of raves about her, but i think i have a bias against female comics, that's why i think ihavn't picked up any of her cD's yet. They just don't have that big of an effect to me like the male counterparts

oh, Listen to J.E.W. (jimmy eat world) i just finished listening to their new Cd "futures" and its amazing!

MArgaret Cho is hilarious - I love her, especially her earlier stuff. Although, a lot of her newer stuff is hilarious. If you've got the chance, check out Notorious C.H.O., the Cho Revolution, or Drunk With Power.

As for other comedy - you just can't beat Denis Leary. He's just so damn offensive, and never starts rambling on about what sucks about sex. Can't beat it.

definatly my least favorite of theirs. the ep that came out before clarity is my favorite. i even like their first album (self titled) better than the new one. however "night drive" is an amazing song and highly under rated. best song on the album.

Kamikazestyle: in my opinion all of them are great on this Cd, this is the first cd that i bought of theirs, i am gnna stat looking for their 2nd self titled album. the one with bleed america. that keeps me working faster and keeps me inspired while working!

Dek: i listen to dennis leary on the Yahoo Radio, he is funny, i like his one act on how he complains about starbucks and all the types of cofee now. and how he compares it to dunkin donuts, " you have a cofee and then u dunk it"

My current fave comic is Chapelle, ypu cant beat rick james bitch!

While I really like Chapelle, I thought his "Rick James" comedy was so-so. As far as comedians go, anything and anyone Daily Show related gets my attention.

What am I listening to right now? Jon Brion's I Heart Huckabees soundtrack.

Stream the entire albums of Merge labelmates Crooked Finger's Dignity & Shame (his last album, Red Devil Dawn was definitely a highlight of 2003 for me), and M Ward's Transistor Radio. Both albums are absolutely incredible, and both hit stores this coming Tuesday. I know what I'm blowing my hard-earned paycheque on...

What is it with all this leaked shit on the internets? Albums are being leaked left right and centre, and in some cases, many months in advance of their release proper. Makes me wonder what it's going to take to stop these people from leaking the artists' work before it's even available in stores...

That being said, Spoon's Gimme Fiction is arguably as good as, if not better than their Kill The Moonlight (which is saying a lot). You can torrent the album from all over the 'net, or if you're more of a traditional music thief, there might be a couple of MP3s still available to be grabbed from here. I've also heard a good third of the new New Order album, Waiting For The Siren's Call, and it's some of their best stuff since the mid-'80s. I am going to absolutely be buying these two for certain (NO's album will be released in April, and Spoon's album hits stores in May).

Also, I have taken a shining to Ariel Pink (MP3 here). It's charming in a strange sort of way.

Nine Inch Nails. With Teeth. May 3rd. Leaked tracks.

Ever since The Downward Spiral, I have always expected to be disappointed by the next NIN album. So far it hasn't happened yet, and this new one doesn't sound like it's going to be a slouch either. Trent has been a happy part of my angsty teenage self, which is certainly nice to revisit every once in a while (luckily, it's usually 5 years between each album, so I don't have to go back that often :) ).

Okay I followed your link back to the NIN site, and Mr. Reznor's response to leaked tracks (which I didn't even feel like downloading, since his music has been awful since The Fragile) was to spoil the end of Million Dollar Baby. I'm not happy.

Yeah, the leaks sound like great songs. Too bad about the radio rip quality, however.
Scored me a ticket for the May 3 show in Denver.

*listening to "Piggy", live in Osaka Japan, Fragility 1.0*

Where was that? I don't recall reading anything of that sort.

Currently listening to:

New Order's Here To Stay (Australian EP)
Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense (one of the best live performances ever. The Jonathan Demme- directed film is incredible... I posted an MP3 here.)

...and I hate almost everything about The Killers (all style, no substance), but the Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke remix of "Mr. Brightside" is really quite something else. Worth tracking down if you have the patience.

Coldplay's latest single, "Talk," has been leaked to the internets. It is from their forthcoming album, and it is very good. Totally Kraftwerk- inspired. I don't condone the continued leaking of new music, but if you were to perhaps run a few searches on your favourite P2P software...

Also, Ted Leo covers Kelly Clarkson. I don't know whether to cringe or grin.
