This is hands down one of the best "Art of" books I've seen. Though it's overflowing with art on every page, it still has a nice ratio of art and commentary. Despite the standardized format of most of the art books today it's layout is easy to read and has a great collection big images. My only complaint is that I wish it was even bigger. Like the art of Tarzan book. And that it had fold out like the incredibles book.

The artists that really stand out in this book are Greg Couch, Michael Knapp, and Dice Tsutsumi. Couch has a keen sense of character and presence parralleled to De Seve, and in the case of his work for Robots, surpasses him. Knapp and Tsutsumi prove themselves as masters in color and atmosphere.

It's also nice to see a lot of William Joyce's work. If your bored with Santa Calls and Dino Bob, this will give you a good Joyce fix.

is BIll Joyce the same person as william Joyce..??

I saw in the book some commentaries done by William Joyce "executive PRoducer.. But on the other hand alot of the art is done by Bill Joyce =p.. im guessing its the same person .. just comfusing =p...

VERY Nice book. I told Kazu to go pick up a copy this morning. My only complaint is that i like to see a variety of materials used for the concept work.. Pastel , watercolour , pencils , digital , charcoal ECTT ECT.. All the work in there seems to either be Pencil or Digital. No real complaints though just somethign i noticed.

Yeah, Bill and william are the same guy.

Your complaint about mediums was pretty much my complaint about the Art of incredibles. Too much collage and guache paintings. I wanted more pencil and digital stuff.

what a great book. i picked it up this week and i have to say that it's one of my favorite "art of" books too. the variety in it is fantastic. It gets me even more excited for the movie.
