I heard from Chris Staros of TopShelf that it will be out for SanDiego.

According to the Top Shelf website, it'll be out "July 2004."

Check out this awesome Blankets wallpaper! This will be on my desktop for a while.

After buying it this weekend and reading a good share of it, I felt the need to revive this thread. This book is amazing, touching, self-aware, well-drawn, very great. It would be a great travel companion for lonesome trips :? Plus, the little animal guy is great.

Yes I loved this book as well ... great read ...
and beautiful artwork all around ...

one non-recommendation DONT BUY the Conversation booklet, the jam with Kochalka ...
I am sorry to say it's an embarassing waste of paper ... it almost spoiled Craig's other awesome books for me ...
Comic Jams are hard, but this one if filled with nothing but self indulgent fluff ... they are both trying very hard to be deep and filosophical but end up with nonsense and trite cliches ...
it strangely made me angry ...
anyway.... sorry about the vent ...
The thing is that I love Craig's other work and after the inspiration of Carnet the Voyage I don't think readers need this kind of book.
It almost seemed like a cheap way to make a buck from Topshelf ... I hope that's the case actually ...

well ok

sorry again for the vent .... I hate to be this negative but ...

E

I saw Craig thompson in Geneve ,at the bookconvention. unfortunately, there were too much people around, I couldn't talk with him.
And I spent some days (in july) in the house of a common friend of us who made some pages in Carnet de Voyage, Lewis Trondheim. It was fun to see all that.

Any way, Carnet de Voyage is a good book, this man is far beyond most of us concerning sketches.

I wish one day I could talk to Mr. Thompson. He looks nice and kind.

Enrico : I totally agree with you concerning the discussion with james Kochalka.

This book was great...Craig is really one of the best at composing words and pictures together on a page...I would...and have been reccomending this to everyone I know.
