Re: Random sketchiness
Yep, they sure were.
I told you I couldn’t stop drawing these Psychonauts characters (designed by the excellent Scott Campbell). This time we have two of the main villains of the game and Lily, the pseudo-girlfriend of the main character, Raz.

Ha! Love the Psychonauts ones. Boyd is my favorite. "I am the milkman. My milk is delicious."
Re: Random sketchiness
Apparently Psychonauts characters are a weird-looking bunch, too! I love the focus on the dripping brain! They seem so... pleased.

Re: Random sketchiness
stuff looks good, Seth!
NOW! my favorite is the EYES. i can see that as a poster or print!
i was thinking if you wanted it color i would put a little bit of white in it arond the eyes and do the background a flat color. i was thinking like from the 60s or 50s french animation colors. a dark neutral pink or blue.

Hey, thanks, guys! That's interesting, Ed... I might have to do that! A lot of people seem to enjoy that one.
A couple more...

Ok, I think I got the Psychonauts bug out of my system for awhile. Above you can see Linda, the supposedly horrible monster that lurks within the lake at the psychic camp in the game. When you go inside her head, you discover that she really is more scared of you than you of her, as you become a giant Godzilla-like creature that is terrorizing the peaceful citizens of Lungfishopolis.

Re: Random sketchiness
At our last sketch night, we drew each other as classic monsters. Here's my version of my friend Randy Rustin as Frankenstein's monster...

Re: Random sketchiness

One of my students and I are having a drawing challenge. He printed off reference photos of three actors and we’re both going to draw each of them as zombies. First up is Jon Heder as the immortal Napoleon Dynamite. Stay tuned for a couple more…

Re: Random sketchiness

A couple of new sketches for ya… a random ancient kung fu master and yet another hobo from John Hodgman’s list of 700 hobo names.

Re: Random sketchiness
Haha, I didn't see your Flapjack drawing before. That show is so great! And that's a fun drawing of Flapjack
I keep a sketchblog here

Re: Random sketchiness
Thanks, guys! I appreciate it.
Tigers have got to be my favorite animal to paint/draw. Those angular stripes and the simple colors are just so graphically pleasing. This is an attempt to watercolor really loosely and then go in with a brush pen fairly tight over that. The other day I just got the urge to paint something and had tremendous fun with this piece!

The perfect balance between loose and tight rendering is beautiful!
