This is great! I think the flat colors work wonderfully. I look forward to reading more.

This is awesome stuff! I'm a huge fan of limited palettes and simple, relaxed linework. Sure there's a little ironing out to do, but I'm sure things will suddenly click. I'm referring to the inking, basically. Also some of the colours seemed to jump out a little.

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this develops. :D

More!

oh yes crits right...uh, the guy on the right, D'Gorath I suppose, is so flat brown that he blends into the background. Perhaps something simple could make him pop -- even a very small, stylize highlight.

I like the style a lot - reminds me of "ligne-clair" with its flatness and easy readability.

Incidentally, the word you want on page 3 panel 2 is "indubitably." And I believe "godspeed" is one word, not two.

But anyway.

This is pretty cool, it kinda reminds me of the old Tintin comics.

When can we see more?

That's excellent work Penman, really entertaining.

There are two particularly spot-on panels there - the electrocution one, and the pirate captain and Peabody standing there with the harpoon rope between them - very funny.

Very enjoyable! I really liked the British accents of the two main guys. And how proper they were... especially for a demon and a skeleton.

I can see many more fun adventures out of these two!

I really enjoyed the heck out of this, so much so that I went and read all the comics you have posted on your site. You've got a great, energetic style. I'm looking forward to more Peabody and D'Gorath adventures.

I like this a lot, style, story, humour, everything. Is that a sub-zero gag in there too? Looking forward to seeing more from you sir.

edit: Just looked at your website, you went to Uni in Preston! Me too. Small world. :D

I was wondering that too - is that a Mortal Kombat reference in there? I think it was Scorpion who shouted "c'mere!" when hauling his harpooned opponent about. Or just coincidence...?

This is a really effective piece, the stylisation of the main characters in relation to the humans works really well to give them a certain air of strangeness. It is almost a very civilised, Victorian curiosity version of Hellboy or BPRD. Tintin is also a great reference for the balance of sense and inanity, and action and comedy.

On another note I think Scorpion shouted "GET OVER HERE" when he harpooned his target...
