I know I've been reading too many psychoanalytic horror film essays, but I totally just read that ghost story as being one about the anxiety of growing up to the age of liking girls.

Neat story though. My house makes really strange noises sometimes so I used to pretend that it was haunted, even though we were the first people that ever lived there. I made up stories about how the last house burned down, or that it was on Indian burial ground or something else...and that would just scare me into not going to sleep.
