So, I'm looking for absolutely EXCELLENT animation. Rare animation also, because I've been through most of the obvious once:
-A All Disney
- All Pixar
-All Dreamworks
- All Ghibli
- A Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpsebride
- Persepolis
- The triplets Of Belleville
- Anime:
Mushishi, FLCL, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Evangelion, Kino's Journey, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in The Shell, Akira... A LOT OF ANIME!

So, I am looking for great animation. Not just beautiful backgrounds or characters, but movement. Anime generally falls behind here. Excellent stories are also good, but here I am talking serious intelligent stories and not cliché yet entertaining stories like in Full Metal Panic.

Perhaps in there are some collections of animation from the Annecy film festival or other film festivals? TV series, movies and short films would all be great. 2d, 3d, puppets. All are great.

Ok, a while ago in my forum I made a post that collected a bunch of animated shorts from the web. "A while ago", so some of the links are quite possibly outdated. I'm going to quote it here hoping it's not too huge:

Michael wrote:
The strengths fluctuate between visuals and narrative, and some are excellent in both regards.

Bolded titles are direct links to the highest res movie file I know of, or an archive containing it. There are of course tons of shorts I'm ignoring, but I focused on those I knew to be available as an actual download.

So!

Thanks for reminding me of An Eye for Annai. It's a little long, but I really love that one.

Everything from studio 4º is worth checking out. Satoshi Kon is someone else worth noting too. If you haven't seen Tekkon Kinkreet yet I guess that should be at the top of your list.

Those were some great links and I've downloaded everything that wasn't broken!

Michael P: Great advice, but too far ahead of you. Have seen it all already^^

I also used to be a big Don Bluth fan mostly because of The Secret of Nimh which I still enjoy a lot to this day.

I also highly recommend this to animation fans:

Tekkon Kinkreet is the greatest movie ever produced in the history of forever.

Anything by Satoshi Kon for anime; my favorites are Paranoia Agent, Millennium Actress, and Magnetic Rose (a short film released on a DVD called Memories with two other shorts that are also good: Stink Bomb and a war one I can't remember the name of... Cannon Fodder is it).

Other than that, I love the series Monster, but that's more for the story than for the art.

Oh, and don't forget The Triplets of Belleville (Les Triplettes de Belleville).

Lastly, not fantastic, a bit hectic, but loveable nonetheless: Mirrormask.
