Just thought I would post some new stuff. Frank's illustration thread has totally inspired me. You can check these all out on my Flickr account.

I made my family elves this year. Mostly because my older daughter Eva looks like a tricky little elf.

I added some depth with the characters in the background being in shadow. I really like how the depth turned out. It was hard to get all of the figures doing what they were doing for this assignment.

I'm doing a few practice illustrations with characters more "adult" in proportion. I still make the heads a little too big.

New adult-ish style. I'm just messing around.

Here are some new characters I made up.

And some inking I did. I want to push my style a little more into realism.

Very cool stuff! I like the girl on the ice cube - very unique style too. Your style would work well in a Christmas book. I like the look of these!

i rally dig the kids sitting and reading, the depth really worked really well. you made me selfish, I want all your work to have that depth now!

Heh heh, you look like that guy from Flight of the Concords.
I really like that last one of the guy with the # on his shirt, I find I'm also forever working on drawing adults, drawing kids just comes so easier.

Here's a piece I did for an Easter calendar thing for "The Pitch". I stuck with CMYK and Orange. Super fun and I was given free reign to do what I wanted. Zach Trover is an awesome art director.

I think the "adult" stuff is looking neat. especially the guy lined in that awesome magenta. great color stuff.

I assigned my digital painting class to do a Shakespeare play poster and I decided to do the assignment with them. I just went with the CMYK colors so this could be a 4 color print + the white or black of the paper (it would look better on black.)

I also updated the background on my website. Here is the image.

You can see it better as a repeated pattern on my site.

Not to me. You seem very consistent - I'm so envious of the absolute freedom and fun your work exhibits. Love that new background.

wow. really hit the spot w/ the first two pictures in that post.
colour and halftone use is great on both.
