I don't know how widely known this little comic is, but I really enjoyed Clan Apis. It's the story of a hive of bees. It's "educational" but well presented. Bees are fascinating creatures in their own right (there was a reason why Aristotle liked to write about them) and this comic does a great job of showing you how amazing bees are. And it even has a nice little story.
It's technically a very well drawn and well laid out comic. A little like Scott McCloud's books but with more bounce in the linework. The drawing style is very clean.
I read Clan Apis about three years ago. Now, though, I'm starting to lay the groundwork for keeping my own hive of bees. I've been reading a very good book on the subject and with all this Clan Apis has been on my mind.
