From the January 2005 Library Journal:

This outstanding anthology, in beautiful full color, showcases 23
remarkably varied takes on the theme defined by the title, from the
glory of a seaplane liftoff to a tribute to flights of imagination. The
young cartoonists here, many of whom got their start in webcomics,
present a hugely diverse range of styles, with storytelling ranging from
accessible and endearing to obscure but compelling, and art evoking many
American, Japanese, and European comics and animation antecedents.
Highlights include Vera Brosgol's "I Wish...," in which a woman who has
dreamed of flying grows wings; Jen Wang's collage-based "Paper and
String," which brings two women together through a shared love of kites;
and Phil Craven's sweet "Deep Blue," in which a cute penguin finds a way
to act out its dreams of flying. But the book maintains a high degree of
artistic quality virtually throughout. A couple of scenes, including a
depiction of childbirth, may keep this out of some teen collections. But
regardless of where it's shelved, this book belongs in every library.

Definately. Buy two copies and donate one to your local library.

Wha..? A comic-like anthology... in libraries? What kind of wondrous parallel dimension do you people live in? No library I ever visited contained such things. I wish they did. :cry:

Well, maybe now that Library Journal has reviewed so favorably, perhaps the chances are increased.
