You kids! Arcade Fire played a live set on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic yesterday, archived in RealAudio. They cover The Magnetic Fields "Born on a Train," as well as a brand new song, "Intervention."

(for those of you seeking MP3 versions of these songs, fear not. Bradley's Almanac can help you out.)

THANK YOU for this link. These are terrific and only make me want to see them live more. If you look back in this thread, you can track my progress on coming to love this album more and more. I started out wondering what the big deal was. Now, I crave it.

I saw them a few weeks ago and it was such an awesome show, I wish I could make it to Cochella this year.

Talk about a media frenzy these days. I will stop posting about them, there's just so much stuff floating about on the web now. If you really want to look for it, though, the Conan O'Brien performance is available in .avi format, and there is a home video recording of David Byrne performing with Arcade Fire kicking around.

However, I will mention Final Fantasy (who's been opening for most of Arcade Fire's dates down in the States... and was seen in the Conan performance) and his wonderful little song about you-know-who-of-Arcade-Fire: This is the Dream of Win and Regine.

Is this the part where pop culture starts to eat itself? A song with the title playfully taken from a Dntel/Gibbard song about a couple in a massively popular rock band? I'd be complaining more if the song wasn't so damn good.

David Bowie will always be one of my heroes. This is just one of the reasons why.

Kean-Tested, Mother-Approved.

Hey, YouAintNoDancer.com posted this cool track today:

MP3: Arcade Fire - Cold Wind

EDIT: Sorry, apparently the link has been removed from YouAintNoDancer, but still works, at least for now.

Dean and Kean, thanks for bringing these guys to my attention! Very cool stuff. KCRW is run by geniuses. Between BBC world news, Morning Becomes Eclectic, This American Life, and Metropolis, they're trying very hard to be on my good side. 8)

"Cold Wind" is still floating out there on MP3 blogs if you just google for it. The song itself is okay, but it isn't exactly my favourite thing they've ever done. I also rather miss that "Brazil" bridge that they played when they played this song live.

Also: this song is being released on the new Six Feet Under soundtrack (and I would presume on iTunes as well). Buy the damn thing already, and support those kids.
