A poster for STS9.

An aborted first attempt at the poster.

A line drawing that I ended up not using for the poster.

Cover for the BYU-Idaho Summer Activities Magazine.

A couple of spot illustrations.

WOW!
Those two first ones kick ass. I really really like your style. There's a certain whimsical feel to it, with an edge that just rubs me the right way.
Hop..new desktop! Great job Mike!

Everything looks good but that first piece rocks. You knew what you were doing putting it first. I really, really like that first piece.

it's hard to pick a favourite, but i think i'll also say the first one and the one with the musicians in the park. that one has a nice summer feeling to it.

I'm really happy with the first piece as well. I realize that most or all of my stuff ends up cute, but I want to be able to do work for the children's market (aka stuff my wife actually likes) and also work for band posters, t-shirts etc. (aka stuff my art buddies actually like.) I hope to be able to get work with both styles.

I had to take the layer with the white and convert it to a bitmap with the setting on halftone dither. I then put that layer back in the image. Is there an easier way?

All great, well, no wait, the jar guy's a pretty weak concept (even though he's, uh, strong), the first 2 kick stylized ass and should get made as a cartoon, plane guy is funny, and lastly I've got a lot of time for the redhead muso with the big calves.

I agree that the pill guy is a weak concept. On that one I was told what to draw and I just drew it... no input from me.
Thanks on the rest. And my wife (who is the inspiration for the redhead) is flattered that everyone seems to like how she looks.
