This was a 4 hr project and it started off a little rocky b/c basically we were told to make a portrait and went start to finish. Vestiges of failed designs may be visible (brought out by the fixatif) but it's in keeping with this new approach of mine. Muted color nice? Red nose? What about those swirls...?

wow beautiful work! the colors really set the mood, awesome job! I think this is a great illustration, the swirls add some good balance.

I like the final product, I think the red nose really draws you into the image... Did you brush on the fixatif?

it's not brush work no, it's colored pencil done over the fix and then brought out a little more digitally.
