Art Thread.

Post by AmericanNinjaX » Wed Jan 10, 2007 12:21 pm

***Edit*** For the sake of clarity, I'll try and keep my posts to a thread for a while so that I don't clog the forum with multiple posts. =D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all, this is an older piece I did. Probably a few months now. But I thought I'd start of with a stronger piece...lull you all into a false sense of security and then disappoint you for the rest of my tenure. =D Nofret understands. I plague her with art on Deviant all the time. haha.

And thank you all for having this forum. The quality of work and professionalism I've seen so far in perusing today is a great thing in a community.

There's a few glaring errors in this piece that have stood out to me for some time, I've just not had the time to go back in and fix them yet. Such as the white lining under the gorilla's back arm under his sleeve. The offset perspective of the stone lattice meeting with the turret. But please feel free to comment and critique further.

nice work, has a great feel to it. Looks like it could be a still from an animation! only crit - (her) left ankle has a defined bone structure in comparison to the other one.
Look forward to seeing more :D

Taboolie. Haha. Thanks. =D

Johane, what's the etiquette on this board. Are threads preferred or individual postings?

this is great. I lurk on deviant, so I've seen you before... glad to have you here.

I honestly don't take issue with the ankle bone, but the thing that struck me as odd was that she's wearing what appears to be remnants of shirtsleeves on her wrists, but has no sleeves on the shirt. Excellent gorilla expression.

Both threads and individual posts are good. I think you can edit the title, so you can always say "Girl VS Gorilla, updated!" for example.

i think i remember seeing this on deviantart. i'll have to double check, but i'm pretty sure i have you watched there. it amused me then, and it amuses me now. my only crit is that i sort of wish the gorilla was bigger.
