Pirate for Dragon Magazine

Post by lyon » Thu Mar 11, 2004 3:52 pm

Hi all,

This is a painting that I did for the April issue of Dragon magazine. The one in the magazine is a little different. It has a map in the background and I have since played with the costume and face a little, but for the most part it is the same. Thanks for taking a look.

Wow, what a beaut. I just love the fabric, esp. on that near arm. It really sells the wind and the atmosphere.

I love maps, so a map b/g sounds cool, but those clouds are pretty damn good too.

What else to say? I love it, it's fantastic. What's the medium? Bits of it look digital, but most of it doesn't.

That's great! Looks like a young Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean... only he has a crow instead of a monkey.
