Empty Words / Gloomy Nancy images

Post by Lestrade » Mon Aug 29, 2005 6:51 pm

A big "hey" to anyone I saw at the con and/or party this weekend. Since I'm such a small fry in this world, I don't blame you if you don't remember me. :-)

Still!

I have new art, both colour and black-and-white, that some might have seen if you were at the con. I thought I'd share. (Gloomy Nancy is a new webcomic I just launched with a writer-friend.)

I like your style (even the manga-ness to it) and I love the story. I was so mad when I realized it wasn't done.... I can't wait for more

Well, I for one have been a fan of Empty Words for a while. So in my ego-centric little world you are not a small fry. Looks like I'll have to go out and read Gloomy Nancy now as well.
Your art looks great, but then I would expect nothing less. The Empty Words poster is my favourite (great colours especially).

Thanks, JDalton. EW has been around for quite a while, I know (ten years for me), but it's still pretty under-the-radar as far as the big picture is concerned.

Also, JP: I've actually sold a print version of Empty Words to a man in Finland. I think that's the farthest one of my books has travelled!

Thanks for sharing the pics. Sometimes I like a certain artist's drawing, but I'm not a fan of their inking. Other times, I like an artist's inking, but not their coloring. You appear to do all 3 well and the images get better the further you develop them (which ain't always true for many artists). Please keep posting.

And by the way, if you are reading this post, and you have not visited Benjamin's www link below, his online graphic novel is there and it's excellent.
