Designs from work.

Post by dan » Fri Oct 22, 2004 9:34 pm

Work gave me permission to show other folks the type of work we're doing. Mind you, i have only been doing design for a few months and i'm still getting the hang of it.

Mind you, i work for an alcohol anti-abuse prevention agency...so the subject matter is a little limited.

Hey, nice work.

I like them, though something seems off on the womans lip on the third one. Perhaps the lips are a little too low on the face. Either that or make the chin a little longer.

The only one of these I don't like is the Women-Only 12-Step Meetings poster. The woman looks quite beaten-down and lost, as if even this program isn't gonna help much. I wish she looked stronger, like she knew she'd been through the wringer but that wasn't gonna stop her, dammit! :)

Thanks for helping me with copywrite errors. :)

hope~ I'm very sorry you feel that way, but the poster is supposed to imply a down trodden/beat female in the confines of a blanket/cloak to portray safety. The women's center is available to help females in this state. So, I was merely told to portray a female in this state.

Tell you truth, i didn't like it that much either, but i thought poster (besides the minor drawing issue) turned out fairly well.

Again, thanks for posting. :)

These all look good to me for someone who just started. You put to shame most of the design students at my school. They only know how to use filters such as lens flare. Keep going! :)

The only thing I can say is that you should vary the type in the first one. Two and three really match the images so you may have to scrap that font and go for a different look alltogether. But all in all these are some great pieces.
