Snow Robo

Post by agent44 » Sun Dec 21, 2003 9:20 pm

We drew names this year in my wife's family for Christmas presents. I got her brother and he asked for a picture. So, this is it. Been reading Bill Waterson a lot lately, so there's an obvious influence.

I can definately see the waterson influence. I really like this piece.

I also wish C&H was still published...but then again I still have one or two books I haven't read yet. :)

Very cute Jake... And a very tasteful adaptation of Watterson's style.

I have a QUESTION!
How did you get the wonderful atmospheric grey to white fade coming from the top of the page? Gives such a nice mood.
It looks like an ink wash...but it's so smooth.
Beautiful work again Jake.

Thanks guys. Glad you all approve.

Doug - For the grey fade I used my trusty iwata airbrush. Just mixed some ink with water and passed over the area a few times with the airbrush. Gave a nice effect and was much quicker than doing a wash.

Spent about an hour and a half on the whole peice.
