Haven't posted any art in a while. Been busy as all get out.
But this is a quick painting i did yesterday for the Robot group show at Super 7 gallery in San Francisco.
No drawing or preliminary sketches just threw down a whole lot of paint and worked it out as i went.
Good fun.

very cool. That's not the same gallery that had robot/cowboy paintings last summer, is it? Jeff Soto had some stuff there, and this painting reminds me a little bit of his sensibilities. neato!

Thanks guys.
Jose i don't think so. The Super 7 store only opened a couple of weeks ago. I know the exhibition you mean though. I think it was at the Le Luz De Jesus gallery in LA.
Big fan of Jeff Soto though.

WOW. the light green colors are really wonderful. I like the background a lot. Super cute robot -
but... how come smoke is coimg out of his head? is he broken? It's kind of a contrast between the really soft and tender picture and sort of the ominous smoke...

Nice work Doug
and the fact that it's pretty much a 'freestyle' picture inspires me to get my skills up...

Very cool, Doug. Is the smoke spewing out of the robot's head a reflection on your current state of mind also?
