Hey everyone!

I'm a new contributor to Flight, you can see my work coming in Flight 6.

What can you expect to see?

Monsters, princesses, and trolls!

Classic fairy tales and lesser known folk stories illustrated.

I will be presenting the show in a somewhat educational format. Along side the completed work will be the progression from original idea, thumbnails, to the rough, color comp., etc.

Grimm and Other Folk Tales
is an Alumnus Art Exhibition by Cory Godbey and is comprised of entirely new works.

Here is a link to my blog where you can find in-progress work for the pieces in the show. Enjoy!

Note : I'm still updating the supplemental work here.
Check out my blog for all of them :

http://lightnightrains.blogspot.com/

I felt like I had been asking a lot of everyone to stick with me and through each piece without showing you all the final work. So. I wanted to do something as a way to thank all of you who have been there with me and been enjoying the posts.

Supplemental drawings for each of the ten pieces.

Basically, small companion pieces.

I took another moment from each of the stories and made a new drawing.

I started following your blog the instant I saw this post, so I could follow your work. Your images are beautiful, with graceful, elegant lines, and provide a wonderful child's book feel without feeling childish. Lovely stuff!

This is so interesting.
At first, I just scanned over your work and thought... ha..yeah.. cool.. but for some reason, i couldn't stop looking at it, and went through all the images, one by one, meticulously.
There is something incredibly appealing and compelling about your work and I couldn't put my finger on it at first, then I think I got it.

You are doing fantasy work with a romantic feel. Instead of high action, high octane, or merely pretty images, your images are infused with a sense of storytelling , of passive action and lyricism that is not usually found at that level in these types of images.

GREAT work, Some of the best stuff I have discovered in a long time!

Cheers
P.

Every picture you do tells a story! Amazing!

The Glass Coffin, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel are my favorites but I love them all!

I could definately see your work accompanying a illustrated version of short stories or full novels, for example Alice in Wonderland!
