MistgriM - my illustrated children book project

Post by Blom » Tue Dec 30, 2008 3:25 pm

As some of you know I am making a illustrated children book, and that it is called MistgriM. It is a project I started late summer this year. And before that it was known as "In to the Mist". My goal with it is to make a book that is like the one I never found as a kid. I am making both story and the visual and I hope it to be finished sometime next year.

Here is two pages from the 36 page story.

Thank you everyone for the inspiration and joy in 2008! :D

hey!
I hadn't seen that earlier. This is GREAT! Your images are so much more constructed now than they use to be! And this world looks like so much fun!
YEAH..can't wait to read the book!

Pascal: Thank you! :D It did take some time to learn, but I think I got it now. ;) So far it is a world with some hundred figures, and counting. This was the first page I finished. AND it is very fun to make, have soon made 10 of the 36 pages.

Joseph Park: Thank you ! :D

Seth: Thank you! :D Not all the pages in this story is as pleasant as this. And the text for the 2 pages makes it kinda sad, I think......

looks verry rich and playfull, as a children book should be ^^
Verry much wondering what the signs and arrows are about...
The background reminds me of some fun deepsea landscape wich is nice.
Looking forward to the story.

good day

Thanks Skip! :D
The signs is telling about where to go, you can see one of them point to the moon... ;)
I don`t think that your far away when thinking on deep sea landscape, it can look like that. This is in the micro cosmos of Norwegian forest. But I agree with you, it can look like deep sea.

The image over show how detailed I am working.

After mainly working on other projects so far this year, I will go more into this one. And has rebuild my scanner so that I can scan the big images easier. I am now going to show more from the project and also the "In the Mist" short film project. See new development from that on my blog http://jinglepaper.wordpress.com And the websites was remade and updated last month.
