And more colors for Moomins.

I think I need to branch out a little, colorwise...

Thanks!

Here's probably the second to last bunch of moomin images. The second one is supposed to pan up. I think when I lay them all out I'll put the start point in as one panel and the end in as another - I think that would make the color progression clearer

Ok, I lied last time. This is the second to last set. More happened towards the end than I remembered. I got to reuse a layout though!

These illustrations look great! Excellent collours!

This might be a dumb question, but is Comet in Moominland one of your own stories?

Oh, I definitely should have specified that. Comet in Moominland and the other Moomin stories are books by Tove Jansson. They're really great - I'd recommend them to everyone (start with Comet and Finn Family Moomintroll). I grew up reading them, they're quick reads and very imaginative.

Wonderful work. I'm in love with the colors of shadows on the beach. :)

Why thank you!

Here's something different - playing around with some watercolors for little monster/animal portraits.

Hey Squirpy! I totally dig the colors and graphic nature of your work!
The color keys are especially nice : )
Love to see more.

Man, reading through this thread was truly inspiring, I need to give backgrounds a try more often.
Your style is really amazing; adorable - yet still powerful. The vivid colours give your pictures a true sense of life, even if they sometimes seem to be just simple sketches. I loved the dog restaurant concepts (tail-holes! <3) and the campfire Moomin scene a lot, but I probably was most impressed by the pencil sketches.
Honestly, this is amazing, you rock. I'm looking forward to seeing more. :D

@Joost thanks! I've been having fun with those, I have no doubt that there is more watercolor in my future. :)

A dawn sailing trip.
