FLIGHT

They have new collections of the old Flash Gordon newspaper comics out in the stores now. I remember seeing a reprint a long time ago and thinking how incredible the art was for being such an old comic. Anyways, I highly recommend it, if just for looking at different ways of comic narrative. There's an interesting shift from vol1 to vol2, much of the narration occured on each panel describing the situation...then it turns to bubble dialoque/narration mix. It made me want to do a sci-fi comic in the feel of the older...no dialogue, just narration.
