Wow. Did anyone else pick this up at the con? It's fantastic. The art is beautiful with black, white, and shades of brown. The liberties he took with the pacing are just great, really epic, with some of the best atmosphere I've ever seen in comics.

It's a really inspirational work. He self-published it with the help of the Xeric Foundation and it's a great accomplishment for the first major work of a new cartoonist.

Haven't read it yet, but my roommate picked up a copy, and just from flipping through, I agree that it looks fantastic. Can't wait to read it.

Having slightly less money, I picked up one of Sam's mini-comics, Phenoms, which was short but pretty hilarious. The guy's got quite an imagination.

I've just read through it again, it has really slipped in my subconscious and I just can't forget it! Everyone should pick it up from his site because he's running low on the first printing!

Sam is fantastic.

And since this is a literature forum-- some folks might be interested in knowing that Sam will be drawing a comics adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events!

Here is a sneak peek:

ooo...you probably haven't seen the trailers for the film yet. the kids look absolutely NOTHING like the book's illustrations or character descriptions...much to my dismay.

but sam's designs are pretty spot-on, movie-wise.

Sam is true hyper-talent.

Tiempos Finales (Vol.1) is by far one my favorite
comics ever. The pacing in that book is just nuts!!
And the brownish/grey color-tones are sweet as
hell, too. I bought a copy at SDCC. His table was
right next Enrico's.

Can't wait for the next eight volumes. :D

I read Tiempos Finales, and I like it! Sam Hiti's drawings of cities are amazing...
