I found these pics on another forum and about freaked...this looks like a really cool film.

Premise:

On Planet One, the locals have two antenna, eight fingers
and tons of fear about alien invaders. They live in a world
like our suburban 1950’s, with sci-fi flicks, gory comic books
and paranoid army generals barking about monsters from
outer space. A young inhabitant of Planet One, Lem, thinks
that space can be wonderful, but he lacks the courage to
even move out of his parents’ basement. Then one day, out
of the sky, an alien ship appears with something funny
written on it: NASA. It is piloted by astronaut and ladies
man, Captain Russ Baker. Russ had expected to plant the
American Flag on a baron planet, only to land at someone’s
backyard barbecue. Now Captain Russ Baker’s new friend,
Lem, must keep him safe from the fearful authorities and
help him recover his confiscated ship to get back home.

That looks great. I kind of wonder why they're aliens when the world and culture they're in is so human though.

It's funny finding out Ilion's a Spanish studio cause just listening to the Incredibles commentary recently, all the animators are saying their Spanish animators pull off the most amazing animations.

Perhaps it is just another symptom of humanity's inability to imagine anything -truly- alien.

More likely, though, they thought it would be better for a laugh! :)

Wow. A CGA movie that could possibly not suck. I shall have to look into this further! (However, if they're a Spanish firm, will that mean this film will only be released in Spain? Because it would be great if there was at least a DVD with subtitles or something released here in the U.S.)

Hehe looks like it could be a fun parody. Lovely visuals too. 2008 until release huh? That's a painfully long way away. :)
