I just read on another blog that they made a animated movie from the grapic novel "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi. I haven't read the books yet (just ordered them on amazon) but the movie looks really interesting. There's a trailer on youtube:

Too bad i don't understand french. I only understood "pink floyd", "michael jackson" and "iron maiden"
:)

Finally saw this. After months of waiting. And it was as good as I had hoped. :D

That's nice to hear. I'll probably wait for the DVD - it looks pretty darn good in any event.

It'd be great if they did a DVD/book deal, sorta like they did with that special edition of SIN CITY.

Even more interesting, here's Marjane talking about the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMwfzqEqVLk Love how she points out it being animated with a simpler design makes it more relatable/universal vs. live action.

I saw this a month or two ago... Marjane and the director were on hand to speak, mostly spoke about their friendship and how it made it easier to make that film.

Great film though, what a window into that era.
