Final Voyage

Post by Tamte » Wed Apr 18, 2007 5:34 pm

Hey guys,
This is the first few pages of a long term project I am working on for a comic book class at my school. I am a Junior studying in an Illustration program and this is kind of a semester long project. It's really a work in progress so the text hasn't been put in yet, but the script is written. Just looking for some feedback, there is some sweet stuff on here. Thanks for your time

Tamte,
I agree with hanzo and Flardy Head (tee-hee, funny name). These pages are incredible! It's obvious you've spent so much time on them--they look so elegant! Do you mind sharing the process? Is this all computer, where did you find reference, etc? Colors, composition, values, textures, lighting, gutters, text placement, stylization of buildings and characters...wow.These are some really solid pieces, my friend. When do we get to see the rest?

Process

Post by Tamte » Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:42 pm

Hey guys, thanks for the support!

so about the process...

It is mostly digital, I just do the drawing scan it in and overlay a paper texture. I started by drawing the pages on the special paper, but that got expensive. The extent of the traditional media ends after about this far

I should be referencing, but I am not. It is gonna bite me in the ass later. I just overlay in a few layers the color and the black linework, letting the texture show through when i want to. Hope that is informative and helpful. I am flattered guys thanks again. I'll post some of the other pages later.

Very nice work! I really like the style you're using...as well as your colors. Keep it up! There is a comic book class at your school? That's cool.
