SKREEEEEEETCH!!! Ah! Here we are, I've just put the Amazon away after a weekend at a very coolio Jazz Festival out in the beautiful town of Marlborough, where amusingly in the middle of a que of people heading in to a big marquee I met a Malcolm fan!! How nuts is that? These comics, I tell you, they're even infiltrating the JAZZ of all things! Whoip!

Anyways, on Friday I promised you guys an update on that surfboard design, and here it is! Not the actual board itself, but a re-working of the image made from the original photo. Hope you guys likey, more on this soon!

Lorenzo!

Time now for a little Malcolm, methinks, this page taken from issue 10 in the Black and White world of Happy Hippy Dale...

Hey Frank! Man, that's so cool of you! Unfortunately we aren't flying in this year, as we want to wait until we've got MOON! up and in the shops before we haul ourselves over for the Big One. Current plans are that we'll be attending the 2007 SDCC, and from then probably quite a few of the other fun US shows (such as APE and Mocca) each year. Until then I guess this thread's the best place to get your fix of all this silliness, as I'll be in here posting 3-4 new pieces every week all year round! Thanks for the interest, sir, really appreciate that!

For those of you who regularly check in on this thread, you'll remember the Vunder Vooman mini-tutorial I posted a few weeks back (have a look through folks, you'll find it!). Well, I figured that I'd try to do a similar thing whenever I produce an image which has some new or unusual technique involved in it's production, or which has some interesting stages within the build-up of the pic. As such, here's a VERY mini break-down of how I went from low-res photo to high-definition photoshop illustration on that ole' surfboard design...!

Hope this is fun to look through!

Lorenzo!

Well, another week rolls to an end, hoo-flippin' ray, that's what I say! So here, for you guys before you leave work/bolt out of school/stroll out out of college/shut down you laptop and get ready to party, is another little pic from from MM10 depicting the Four Walls and a roof muesum of oddities! Hoho!

Have a grrrreat weekend, folks, I think it's gonna be a hot one here in dear ole' England!

More soon!

Lorenzo!

Hey, hey Jonny-M!! Man, thank you! That's so cool you dig! I've just been all over the Galaxy Kid site, is that your work? It's brilliant!! Hope you post some stuff up in here on a regular basis, pal! Ace!

Well, by Broski Bob's back after having been living the snowy life up in a 'boarding chalet in Morzine for five months, and then living the wind-surfey life in Hungary for a month, but the Blink is finally back together! Alriiiiiight!! So, expect LOTS more nutsy new images as our collective brains pop and fizzle for the next 18 weeks or so with all the MOON! stuff we're gonna be working on! Good to have you back, brother!

Here's some Malcolm!

Whew! Well, we're having a Malcolm-heavy week here, huh, folks?! To continue that theme, here's a selection of panels from MM09. These babies are actually taken from a couple of pages, with another sequence in between the third and the forth panels, which is why they don't read too smoothly, but I thought I'd put 'em all together here for you guys to see. Hope you likey!

Oh, and for those of you who are into the MOON! concept illos, there's a new 'un coming real soon!

Lorenzo!

great compositions. I especially love the avant-garde technique of leaving the words out, it really makes me concentrate on the images.

I was wondering, how many fully-inked pages do you do per week? You seem pretty productive.

ciao

Lorenzo,

Ah, the goodness that is this thread! So much creativity...

Those concept sketches continue to blow me away. Whenever your books hit over here, I'm definitely getting them.

That surfboard... man! Quite the challenge, but you pulled it off beautifully! And thanks for another step-by-step... very interesting. I do slightly prefer the more monochromatic version, but the final version still kicks tail.

-Seth

Hey Frank! Thank you so much, man! Glad you dig the new pages, that's really cool! My productivity is pretty hard to assess in a way, as I'm actually constantly distracting myself by hopping from one project to the next all the time. I think if I had to time it, I'd say I can ink a couple of pages in a day, but that would be only the ones with moderate detail, and of course, it isn't real inking like your stuff, my pages have very little shadow, they're mostly just scratchy lines! Hoho! I'm not actually that productive, based on all the hours I spend on this stuff! Thanks for the interest, buddy, and for taking the time to post, I really appreciate that!

Seth! Man, good to have you back in the forums, bud! Hope your time away was great fun and fuelled up for more! Love the new pages, both Rook City and Evil ain't Easy - brilliant! Glad you dig the surfboard colours, and I hope today's MOON! concept art hits the spot for you weekly pencils intake! Glad the tute' was cool, we got a much more in-depth one coming up on how I constuct one of those ridiculously over-complicated environment shots, which should be fun! Hope you likey! Thanks for the post!

Okey-dokey, so as promised, here's some more MOON! concept scribbles...

Boy, have we got some cool things on the way for you lucky forum-ers! Be sure to keep checking in, peoples, BIG things are a-comin'!

Lorenzo!

Well, another day, another Malcolm posting!! Hoho! Here's a selection of (unforgivably smudgy) pencil panels from Fikov's big fight at the start of MM10. Vikes! That's one angry bear!!

More soon!
