Hey

Just wanted to let people know that I just re-launched Two Weeks of Desert, the action/adventure comic I've been working on for some time now.
Got it a proper site this time,

TwoWeeksOfDesert.com

and I'm updating it with three new pages every Wednesday.

Take a look and let me know what you think of it.

Here's the first of the latest set of panels:

I REALLY dig your inking. That super rough brushwork is very appealing and fits the style of story you are trying to tell. I also enjoy the limited palette. It gives it a unique look.

One complaint, though... your site design. I enjoy the look of it, but the navigation is awkward to say the least. It really takes you out of the story when you can't just click through from first page to last without opening up a new set of panels. Also, the logo on every panel is very distracting. If you're worried about people using panels without your permission, a more discrete copyright blurb in the corner would be better.

Cool comic, though! Good luck!

Today's update:

Check out the site for the rest.

Seth: Thanks - I know the site’s not perfect, but it kinda works and it’ll just have to do till I find the time to re-design it. It's not yet set in stone.

This is really nice. I like the art as much as the writing and the world you're building here. Great stuff. My only critique is that it's hard to follow the story on your website. It can be a little jarring following the story in the format you've presented on your site. I would love to read this in a book. Or, have more panels on a page so I didn't have to click "next" for each panel. However, it's a minor critique for some great stuff. Keep it up.

I like your inking too. I love the way you use it to create depth. It's very...organized.

Mat: Thanks, man. I realise the site's not working perfectly -
so I'll probably try and tweak it some this week. Personally, I like the
panel-by-panel progression, but I agree it could be a bit smoother.

geoff: Organized is probably the last thing it is. :)
I ink pretty loosely - keeps me interested in the process, y'know?
Good to hear you're liking it.

As always, check out the site to see the rest.

I’m going into the characters' background a bit more in these new panels, as well as next week's.
Take a look if you’re interested.

That's a really great style. A little hard to read on your site with the lightboxing, it would be nice to have a regular comic archive to dig through. But it looks fantastic, great lines and color choices and really fun character designs.

marooned:Glad you like it, man.

I'll finally re-design the site this week, change the way
it works and lump all the pages together in one section.
I've decided to drop the weekly format and instead work
toward publishing the story as a book, so there'll be mainly
sketches, background info and the like from now on.
