long untitled comic

Post by Phil McAndrew » Thu Mar 20, 2008 12:48 am

After tinkering with the script for close to a year, I just started working on what will be a book length comic. I'm just coloring it for the web. Here are the first two pages...

Don't worry, the whole book isn't the same panel over and over! It going to be action packed and pretty wacky.

I wouldn't make that assumption because the repetition evokes the uncomfortable scrutiny of an interview going badly, and is totally appropriate to this scene.

More please! 8)

Wow, yeah... I didn't even notice it was the same panel over and over. It flowed, and that's what matters.

Don't get self-conscious - you have a good feel for this stuff!

Being swedish (the most tensed up people in the world) i believe myselfe to know that horror of a really uncomfortable mood. And the sweeds have a natural fear of talking about anything that is even remotly related to money, like a job offer for excample, so I can really relate to that poor guy.

Man, that's funny... in an uncomfortable sort of way. Not showing the guy on the other side of the desk is a nice choice... gives you that 'can't get there from here' feeling.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! I've got the next bunch of pages penciled, I'll try to finish them up as soon as possible.

Very cool. I like that you don't even show the interviewer at this point. We are totally focused on this guy's discomfort.
