So I just got back from the best concert of my life. My friend Mike and I went to the Nelly Furtado concert tonight at the Windspear here in Edmonton. We were third row on the left side, aisle seats. We were literally 8 feet from the stage and because we were on the aisle there was nothing and no-one between me and Nelly (except for a large bouncer, and her body guard, who while not in front of the stage was waiting in the shadows ready to pounce). It was awesome. When Nelly was looking into the crowd it was like she was looking right at you. I cried... no I didn't but it was awesome. The best part though... everyone was up on their feet, moving, Mike was being typical Mike and pulling all the old school hip hop moves, The Running Man etc. Nelly Furtado saw him and pulled him up on stage, he was up there dancing with Nelly and the backup dancer/singer for like 2 songs. A little background here really quick, Mike can't actually dance... he just does his best to pull off old school hip hop, but he does it with energy and abandon so it's all good. It was awesome. The best part is, it was Mike so he was pulling all the crazy moves. He actually did The Shopping Cart up on stage, and the Carlton. The Shopping Cart people, on stage, in a packed Winspear! After the concert as we were walking to the car people were like yelling at him and saying he was awesome and whatnot and that he made the concert that much more memoriable(sp?) for them. I just want it to be known that Michael Wilfred Beaumont Harbin the Fourth is my new hero. Of course we got the obligatory autographed picture (actually autographed not machine copied like my Claire Danes autograph

), and I got the opening bands CD and had it signed. Mike got a flower from Nelly for dancing on stage and he got a t-shirt. More info than you all wanted to know, I know but still that is the Nelly Furtado Concert 2004 Saga, the best concert I have ever been to. The End.
Addendum: To be fully accurate there were a few others who got to come on-stage but none of them had the moves, and I didn't know any of them...
