I liked AICN back when they the cojones to post real reports, and pictures from inside sources. Now their inside source is a press release that EW gets, too.

Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow: Fucking awesome! I finally got to see it this weekend, and fell in love with the movie after the first 10 minutes. I love pulpy sci-fi and this was to pulp sci fi what Kill Bill was to Kung fu and spaghetti westerns. The cool little bits in the movie made it gol...

Agreed. He gets a bit lost in the picture.

looks kinda cool. Part of me wishes it was in live-action instead, and the other part of me is laughing because it makes me think of the kleenex kids all grownsed (sic) up.

He's a filter-feeder. He'll have baleens instead of teeth. In that one open mouth shot, I was more worried about the mechanics of his jaw/mouth. I think I drew it four times, and I'm still not happy with it. This design is supposed to be a combo of a Sperm whale and a humpback. Next design I think I...

Here's a sketch of those notes. I did them at work really quickly while on lunch. I made Florb's pants tight so you can see his massive whale-like body and little flipper legs and feet. His arms will be rounded, flat and come to his webbed hands. I like the "pleated" neck influenced from the humback...

Like have their 6 legs come down and out like the Octopusguy from Spongebob? I'll give it a try. Gotta make sure I dont make them look like feet like his, though. I'll also try adjusting the legs to come out them down, like a crab or spider, even. Maybe 6 arms and 2 legs like a cheesy costume. Sorry...

Couple Designs. Advice?

I'm in the initial design stages for a short story Called DARING ADVENTURES starring Capt. David Dare in " Sea No Evil! " These two characters are a whale-like Det. and Squid people. It's a pulp-ish concept in the way of Flash Gordon serials. So, the elements I'm going for are to keep it simple, ret...

I love the amount of detail you put into this without having a lot of tangents ( I only found three ) and I really LOOKED .... because I hate you ... for being this talented ... and I'm not ...  If you do finish it and color it, though, I'd like to see the guy being the standout image, ...

Oh, the dialogue is getting added in later. I just wanted to add those sound effects myself. The "wham!" will probably get replaced with a "fhump!" though. I think I'll go back and add open mouths to panels 2, 7, and 8. The guy in panel 8 doesn't talk, though. I'll post the final lettered version on...

Yeah, he's too nice for his own good. He's always been a big help with my art. Letting me know what to work on.

I haven't seen him online much since he started interning for WS. Once a month, if lucky. I know he's doing damn well if he was lucky enough to get invited to contribute to Flight.
