Ah, thanks for that thorough outline, Joey! Ha ha. You make good points about wanting to improvise some bits, so I think I'll take that into account too. It seems like a pretty good method; I always end up changing stuff too but hoped to direct it a little more by writing a script. Previously i jus...

Oh! I love these topics! I find that writing is one of the most interesting ways in which cartoonists vary their methods. I don't recall if this has been touched in other topics on this forum or not, but here's my routine: I write with a series of outlines getting more and more specific until I get ...

This had to be one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. And without the aid of fuzzy creatures of any sort :P

Yeah, with supposedly several sequels planned, I'm waiting to see how the tale develops before totally denouncing that ending. But it does rub me a little the wrong way....

Just saw this, and I really liked it! It was total fun, Po was a hilarious and lovable character, and I think it really was a fine tribute to the Kung Fu genre. I think it did everything right that Forbidden Kingdom did wrong :P While I really enjoyed the film, I have some issues with the very end.....

Sorry Dik! Can't seem to find any! :P Uhh...no, well, lets see. From the comments in Amy's LJ it sounds like Scott McCloud wasn't so happy with it...but what does he know!? If you want to read about people who don't like it, just go to Rotten Tomatoes  (yes, I get paid per emoticon)

P.S. Totally off-topic, but it's cool to hear that you've been enjoying One Piece, Kazu. That is my favorite contemporary shounen manga.

Iron Man was good, no doubt. But Speed Racer is my favorite s...

I was riding the BART train through a tunnel in San Francisco when I saw the coolest ad for this movie: It was a series of lighted stills, perfectly timed to the movement of the train, that turned my window into a zoetrope playing a scene from the movie. It would have been clever enough for any oth...

Dude, I need to see it again just to figure out what the heck Speed does with the last two drivers in the final race. That last sequence had my head spinning!

Re: worth the ticket price

I have to say, I enjoyed myself watching this movie more than I did when I saw Iron Man. It's interesting that you bring this up, because it's a comparison that I've been thinking a lot about after seeing (and loving) Speed Racer. Now, I have to preface this by saying that no, I have not yet seen I...
