I'm a big fan of squid and octopus. Something about the rubberyness pleases me...

Anyone in Savannah -- Sushi Zen (which in my opinion was the best sushi in town) has these totally amazing Fried Calamari rolls. I miss them deeply.

Project: Romantic is an excellent anthology. In fact, all of AdHouse's Project books are great, but this is the only one still available. It's also my favorite of the series. Along the lines of Put the Book Back on the Shelf , there's a new Tori Amos-inspired book from Image called Comic Book Tatto...

It was actually thanks to Kazu's advice that I decided to serialize my first graphic novel, The Ride Home , online ( here ). I know the fear -- that if people can read it for free, will they buy it in book form? Believe me, TRH being online has helped me gain more fans than book solicitations alone ...

I work in a mail room, er *achem* I mean, "Media Distribution Center." I you can see the office where I work heavily referenced in my Tree Frog story from Superior Showcase #2. At least I got a good story out of it, right?

Just a reminder that there's only one week left of The Ride Home 's 1 Year Birthday offer! So, if you want some free art, now's the time to act! Here are a couple examples of sketches already sent to people: http://tragic-planet.com/Other/sullivansketch.jpg http://tragic-planet.com/Other/pitzersketc...

Blu was recently interviewed on (the excellent) Sound of Young America. I haven't heard the album yet, but it does sound really good.

Quote of the day regarding Watchmen from a coworker (not into comics):

"It looked stupid! I couldn't tell who was the good guy and who was the bad guy!"

I'm wondering how they're going to get the public to understand what it is, though. It'll be quite a challenge. I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were going to try to make Watchmen the movie to superhero movies, what Watchmen the comic was to superhero comics. Does this make any sense?...

Wow, this is an old thread! Ahh...I was just a young lad, first discovering YouTube... Yeah, so, update: I'm still obsessed with Tom Waits. Er, I mean, he's still my favorite musician 8) Couldn't afford to see him on his Glitter & Doom tour (which kills me, but I'll live vicariously throught bootleg...

http://tragic-planet.com/theridehome/TRH1year.jpg Well, the San Diego Comic-Con is approaching, and unfortunately, I won't be there. I do have a new story in Flight 5 , which will be debuting at the show. So if you're attending, stop by the Flight table and pick up a copy! The Flight table is alway...

I'm still learning, but I found my stories have improved after I began using basic plot and structure elements. I don't make any distinction between a short story or comic until after the story is written. I then take the story, break it down into panels and work on the layout and timing. Any good ...
