Alright Josh, Thanks for casting your eye over these, it's cool to know people are looking out for these kind of things. These horses are from reference, I've never painted a horse before and part of my goal for this year is to do a lot more in the way of anatomical studies, both human and animal. A...

A Beautiful illustration, the paper textures that bleed through the colours work really well; especially when contrasted against the more intense pattern work of the sea/night sky. The lighting across the face is very evocative.

Re: hey

Muffin, Mr Cow, Swizec, thank you very much! I'm glad you've all found something in these pieces that you like! Hey TmDurn, Cheers fella! The colour choices are pretty much from my minds eye, I used some reference for the Conifers for a short while, just to get some convincing structure going on the...

Horses N waterfalls and a Pirate Pony

Ello ello, Tis been a while, I had to brush the dust off my avatar before i could even post. Thought I'd share a few quick Horse like studies I did. I reeeeaally enjoyed doing these. I tried to keep the rendering focused on the most important strokes to describe the masses rather than laidening the ...

Well done Bann! Really nicely done. I'll be picking this up. I can't speak French, but i have numerous French comics as in my opinion some of the best work I've seen recently is coming out of Europe. A well implemented comic doesn't necessarily need the accompanying text to tell it's story, the imag...

^ Hehe yeah we've got a few at work too. I had to design the icons for the Controller help Screens in the game I was working on. Everytime they changed the damn controller I had to go through all the files and change the frigging thing again and again and again. To be honest I've had enough Wii cont...

Cheers guys! Josh - Thanks for the advice, I think i might put a few birds in there, try them out for size, see whether they sit well with the piece :] Thanks Frank. I've created the whole piece in photoshop so far simply due to time; but I know what you mean and I think it could work really well. I...

Landscape Opinion

Hi Folks! I'm working on a landscape as a christmas present for my mum and nan. Basically they both like poppies and they both like reds and golds, keeping all that in mind I've created this piece in a fairly painterly style. I've only been able to work on it in 1 hour slots here and there, I'm hopi...

Much better than the last one thank goodness. It had the audience laughing out loud in some places. I thought the pacing was abit awry though, the last half hour just seemed to drop to a crawl, people were squirming in their seats. Mind you perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't had to si...

This is something that all good artists suffer from, it shows that you care about your work and you want to achieve more. I think it's also an artists burden, it's one of those niggling things that's always going to be there. As mere mortals it's very easy to focus solely on the negatives, but you h...

Alright Badger :) What are you studying at Uni if you don't mind me asking? Yeah I went through Uni too, but I studied Graphic Design as I had kinda been led into thinking anything else more creative was just a mere fantasy. Anyway, a long story short, I doodled in my spare time. Once I graduated fr...

Some good stuff here. I like the futuristic city piece. Nicely defined silhouette for the ship design. Like you said, perhaps if you reduced the saturation in certain areas such as the blues on the building, it might help to separate things out a little more, but it's a minor thing. Perhaps punching...

If you're looking for C&C aaron then you might also want to take a look into the saturation levels around the grass and path on the right. The grass is much more vibrant, even way back into the distance than it is for the rest of the image. My eye goes straight to the grass. It's a solid image thoug...
