i've seen both, and had a really strong bias towards the hk original going into the remake.

that being said i was surprised by how much of it still felt fresh and surprising to me, despite knowing the outcome. i guess thats a testament to the strength of the original premise.

i liked the science of sleep well enough in its whimsy and strangeness although it lacked structure at times. something that kaufman arguably brings to their collaborations. although i'm sure you could argue the patchwork nature of the film was in service to the story... still, i'm a massive fan of ...

hi Sebastian,

i've been a big fan of tomine since i was like, in gradeschool? embarrassingly enough i had first heard about him in a wizard magazine, of all places.

32 stories is pretty neat and makes a man who's stories have always been about humans and humanity, more human.
