I remember seeing a four page article on it when I was a young kid in a Korean comics magazine, but I could never find it... Maybe I should try netflixing it. :P I actually really liked The Black Cauldron, but I went in expecting pure badness. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Don't know...

I thought it was lots of fun, and could tell that this would be a good movie for repeat viewings because of its amazing monster/scene designs. Yes, there were a couple of moments that felt, sounded like, and nearly ripped off from other movies (most notably in my mind -- Harry Potter and the first L...

I thought it was so-so. I think the movie "Contact" did a better job at invoking that outer space feel... space felt rather small to me, like it was on a sound stage, if you know what I mean? I'm kind of picky about my outer space, though. :P Also, I kind of lost interest once I found out EVE had a ...

I'm kind of with Sonofarich on this one... except maybe more unsatisfied. I thought the film was tedious and gross, I really did not like the wormy skin on the hulk. He looked disgusting, and every time he was on screen it really put me off. That final battle sequence was so gross, I had to look awa...

Oh yeah, this one. When I first saw the trailer, it reminded me of The Time Traveler's Wife. Since it's by the same guy that did Zodiac, though, I'm interested in it even more! It definitely looks beautiful. Lots of painterly shots! It's also kind of like that music video, "Return to Innocence" hehe...

I really liked it and I'm buying the soundtrack. It really sets the stage for more adventures, and I hope there'll be a Kung Fu Panda 2! Beautiful scenery and great character design, great little moments scattered throughout.

jdalton - so glad you liked it! Isn't it amazing how everything ties together in the end? UGH! Even after five times, I cried like a baby. Not to beat a dead horse, but here are some of my favorite reviews of this film. I like these reviews because they express very clearly and what it is that makes...

For me it wasn't the outlandish stuff, it was the lack of any sort of conflict. It's just that a lot of the stuff happening in the movie seemed to be happening for no reason other than convenient plot-weaving. In Raiders, it was a judgment being put upon those who were evil (and Nazi's are easily th...

dikpose- Yeah, the look of it isn't for everyone. The movie looks terrible on youtube video. I just blogged about the movie and it was so hard to find good clips of the film that embodied the spirit of it. It really is a hard sell, but the movie in its entirety is what makes it good. Kean had the sa...

It was... enjoyable. For the most part. I got a little sleepy through the action, and it all began to blur together. Story wise I thought it was pretty lazy (how do we get away from this danger?! I know! Use the skull!), with a lot of convenient get-aways. I thought the villain was a little non-thre...

matthewart - There's also Castle In The Sky, which is supposed to be a sequel. I haven't finished it yet, but so far I like Howl's way better. Then again, I'm biased. :D I'm also getting through her book "Deep Secret", which is one of my friend's favorite Diana Wynn Jones novels. dark77778 - I haven...

yeah, the more I think about it, the more I want to see Speed Racer again. I love spending time with his family (aside from the chimp and youngest son). I was telling Kazu... there's one or two really strong moments in Iron Man where I felt as if the director/writers really understood their characte...

Never read it? Oooh boy, you're in for a real treat!!! First couple chapters are a little slow, but man... okay I won't say anymore. But it's definitely become one of my favorite books of all time. I saw the movie before the book, too. It won't ruin anything for you. They're two totally different st...

Despite loving to write fantasy, I'm not a huge fantasy fan myself. But I have my favorites, namely Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, His Dark Material trilogy by Philip Pullman and A Wrinkle In time by Madeleine L'Engle.

worth the ticket price

Saw it, loved it. Can't wait to own it on DVD! The story was excellent, and I even shed a tear in the climactic ending. It was great! I have to say, I enjoyed myself watching this movie more than I did when I saw Iron Man. The main character Speed is really well defined, and there's some really comp...
