The drawing is pretty good but the white edges around your lines are bugging me. I assume you coloured it in Photoshop? Try playing around with your pictures once you've scanned them. There are ways of separating your linework from those white bits before you colour.

Took long enough, but I finally got my copy. It's good. I like it. Though... I think I actually prefer Daisy Kutter. But that may only be because Daisy is a complete standalone story, while this is only chapter one of Amulet. I will say this- the first dozen or so pages? Daaaaaamn. I honestly...

Must be the comicker in me, but like Og, all I can think of is the potential for using such a technique in comics. She'd want to have a limited number of sets, I expect, and making the characters would be a lot of work, but it would be pretty cool. Sort of the same genre as those webcomics people ma...

Well if you pay the artist the relationship suddenly becomes very clear and easy to manage. :P Otherwise I think it works best if it's somebody you already know and are friends with. If you're going to work together with someone on a project "just for fun" as it were, even if you hope it will be pro...

Well the setting is certainly appropriate. Mesoamerican archeology used to be exactly like an Indiana Jones movie. Some Mesoamerican archaeologists still play it too fast an loose with their work I think.

I'm sure it helps that he lives in New York and can meet art directors in person. I had a prof who suggested I do that, but... I was too broke. Also not as brave.

I finally bought myself a laser printer and can now make comics entirely in my living room! :P

It's the cheapest way to do smallish print runs of colour books or high-quality B+W, but it is also very time consuming. And I can't print anything bigger than legal size.

I once clocked myself at 14 hours for a page. But it varies, especially if the page is not in colour or a smaller size.

I'd say the best way to learn is to just do it. Someone once said that you have to draw 10,000 drawings before you draw your first "good" one. So keep up with your other art interests, but draw comics. Draw a lot of them! Studying art in school is also worthwhile, so is reading comics, and there are...

Re: 30 Day Challenge of GLORY

I'm too good and have too many ideas to be settling anymore for not pushing myself and waiting for "inspiration" to hit. You are too good! Go for it! My own mediochre comics project is now 11 and a half pages away from being completed, though It's likely to be another two months before I get it don...

Maybe Wayne's World? It is full of cheese, but somehow keeps me entertained all the way through. I could watch this many more times than the arguably cleverer Austin Powers. I also love Fifth Element more than I ought to- not that I would call it a bad movie or anything, but the story is hardly spec...

Interesting. I really like the effect he's getting.
