You guys are suckers! Why not just live in San Diego? That's what I do. And all it means is that I don't have to fly to SDCC. :P The other 361 days a year, comics just don't matter in San Diego. You could form your own comic culture here and then it'll be the hottest place to be. Only if. Ma...

One thing I can tell you, NOT San Diego.

Sure, we have Comic-con, but no one who actually makes comics lives in the area.

aaaand my review is up.

It still feels too short, and I didn't have enough space to really gush about how terrific it is, but it's the least I could do to give the book a boost. ;)

APE Report (Phil's photo report added, pg 1)

Well, I'm back from Saturday at APE, and I guess we all know what the most important book of the con was. The Flight booth was packed everytime I went up there, but somehow I still managed to get most of the contributors present to sign my copy. A big thanks to Kazu (the hero!), Jen, Neil, Becky, Ra...

Wow, is this the greatest messageboard thread ever, or what?

Jake, I think you've just owned everyone else here. The cute, it kills.

Ha ha, I have no booth number! Or minicomics to foist upon unsuspecting victims! I shall be attending strictly as a fanboy.

(and then blogging about it. or something)

You win at comics!

I'm sure that Vol. 3 will not only trump Blankets, but give Harry Potter a good scare ;)

What're the extras? I won't be able to get mine until Saturday. An afterword by Kazu, some early Daisy sketches, tons of concept sketches (including the covers), a "how-to" of Kazu's comicking process, and a pile of fanart by the likes of ... well ... most of the top artists who hang out here...

Just picked it up today, and I've only had time to look through the fanart at the back, but wow. For $11 this rates as an AWESOME on production values, and all the extras are terrific. (Also nice to see that DKK still has that ingenious sense of humor!)

More than meets the eye!

So, an engineer in Oxford has built an ACTUAL robot out of a Mini Cooper:

I don't think it actually transforms, but the level of functionality alone is amazing.
