Re: Gallery Nucleus:A Tribute to the Writings of Lovercraft
Oh man, I wish I was back in SoCal so I could've attended this. HP Lovecraft is one of my favorite writers.

Re: Cathedral + Amulet 3 preview
Holy crap Kazu, those two images are amazing. The textures on the mountains in the first one utterly blow me away, and I love the downtown scene in the second image. You've got such a wonderful way with giving the towns and cities you depict this kind of "stacked" feeling, where it's like instead of...

Re: Which Cintiq?
I use the 21" monster at work and it is amazing. For my own personal at-home stuff I still go old school and use a good old Wacom Intuos, which I actually work a bit faster with than a Cintiq. But there is something inherently amazing about Cintiques. But yeah, get the big version. Chances are you'l...

Re: Are all of you full time artists?
Officially , as in on paper, I'm designated as a Marine Corps Combat Photographer, though in practical application I also do fill in the role of a Combat Illustrator. Right now I'm doing mostly photography (which is fine, since I get lots of down time to draw my own stuff at work on my fancy DoD-pr...

Re: A whole bunch of stuff - sketches, couple finished pieces
I find these oddly fascinating. The colour pieces especially look like animation stills, which is an effect I dig, and have been trying for myself. They could stand to be just slightly sharper (the anime-blur reduces the definition of the scenes which have tons of detail I would like to see more cl...

A whole bunch of stuff - sketches, couple finished pieces
Hey everyone, long time no see. I've been busy off my ass the last almost-year, on sort of a vision quest or walkabout if you want to put it that way, hence my lack of presence here. But now that things have settled down a bit I'm now able to post some of the stuff I've done over the last while. Don...

I'm gonna just copy and paste what I wrote on Doug TenNapel's forum: Me and Annie saw it yesterday. I thought it was pretty cool, but I think they really dropped the ball on this. There were TONS of characters where I kept thinking " Oh man, you just KNOW this guy's going to do something totally awe...

Man, amazing work. You make me want to bust out my watercolors again. In some ways I thhhhhink I see a little Yoshitaka Amano influence, yet at the same time it's something so unique and different. What I really love though is the way you draw architecture/buildings. Is there any particular source t...
