Re: Bought some new tubes of watercolor....
Those are pretty. You've more patience than me to paint on such crappy paper and have it turn out so good.

Here's two more, and I'm one-third of the way done with this project.

Re: Are all of you full time artists?
I'm just out of college and trying to break in to the comic world. I work on comics and illustration full-time, and while it does earn me some money, it's not enough to pay the bills yet. Luckily, my husband has a job as a teacher and is able to support us. ps - Architecture is totally art! At least...

Knytt Stories(free) a great minimal atmospheric platformer, with great design and music. I love Knytt stories. Have you played Within a Deep Forest? That one's a bit harder, but just as fun. Geneforge http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/ A real "role-playing" game where you not only customize your wiz...

Ooh I really like this one. Is there one too many strips of light, though? I count four sources, but five patches of light on the bed. Whatever, it's pretty.

I think the color really brings out the Braid picture, and I like the paper effect. Sometimes I think digital colors don't have enough texture.
And yeah, Brave New World is a depressing book. I remember the scene now.

Here's a new one. I'm designing some characters for a guy. There will be twelve, total. Large version is here: http://kstipetic.deviantart.com/art/Sun-152311051

I don't think fanart is discouraged here. I mean, I'm not discouraging it!
The Katamari one is really cute. Mmmm, Prince-maki.
And I like the Braid one a lot, especially the running dude. Nice job on the fabric.
What scene is that from Brave New World?

Your alligator monster is rad. Is there a story behind it?
I also really like "Grief Through Times of Strife." I like the unexpected imagery. I'm not sure why there's a girl in the ocean surrounded by burning ships, but it feels right.

Re: K's art thread (nsfw)
The one with the antlers from Dec 20 is so interesting! It's like when you see an image you can't get out of your head for some reason... I imagine there's a story behind that one. I really like your style, I'm always really hesitant to use heavy blacks because I feel like it can overpower an image...

Re: Type of paper?
I mentioned this in a different thread, but it's such good paper I'll say it again: Borden & Riley #234, paper for pens. http://www.bordenandriley.com/website/paperspenink.html It's super-smooth, bright white, and there's absolutely no bleeding. The downside is that it's only usable for ink. And I'm...

Re: What inking pen to use? Nib pens?
Nib pens work best on smooth surfaces. The fine point tends to catch on the fibers of textured paper. I used to use bristol, but recently I found this paper, http://www.bordenandriley.com/website/paperspenink.html , #234, Paper for Pens. It's much cheaper than bristol board and even smoother. As for...

Re: Avatar
Ganter, I agree that artists shouldn't be afraid to be unoriginal. And I agree that cliches can be used both well and poorly. I did focus on the fact that Avatar isn't original in my earlier post, so let me update my view. My main problem with this film (and I'm not singling it out, there's lots of ...

Re: Cathedral
That's pretty sweet. I like how all the texture on the mountains is slanting the same direction, kind of makes it look like it's raining, you know?
