Re: Avatar
Word! I don't have the same mixed feelings about those other guys/girls not winning an award, though. I think Avatar is the best movie with the best director this year, and as such deserves the awards! Yeah, those others are good, but they can have a silver and bronze globe. The best must be rewarde...

Agree with Kazu and Amy 100%.* Kazu, your film studies degree really shines through in your excellently written reviews. You should be a contributing writer for some of the entertainment magazines. I don't always totally agree with you, but you have encapsulated here exactly what I felt about the mo...

Awesome!! I can see Will Smith making a great family adventure movie of Amulet. His kids are pretty good little actors, too, and with Dad on the set (and maybe even playing a cameo?) I'm sure it will help them. Here's an article from comingsoon.net. I was pretty stoked to see this while catching up ...

Haha! I'm "the philabusta" because "philabusta" was taken... One common thing people do is bracket the name with different letters, such as: X TangoCharlie X lll Tango Charlie lll Or any number of other combinations so that the bracketing letters don't read as letters. I don't like the _____[name]__...

DR. MARIO!! The second best puzzle game ever, after Tetris. Recently busted out the ol' Nintendo 64, which is the only system for I own Dr. Mario, and we had some epic 2 v. 2 pill-popping battles last weekend. Now I need some pills to get Dr. Mario out of my head. (Awesome music, too. "Fever" and "...

I watched the movie again tonight, and enjoyed it not quite as much as the first time, but still had fun and relished the good parts. I don't really see the reason for despising the film so intensely. Is a flawed movie really so offensive? Michael Bay certainly wasn't trying to insult the audience--...

Personally, I'd want to do something nice, especially since she apparently appreciates the drawing so much. However, I'd be afraid to touch the actual art, which could be ruined, and then the picture she's saved for 14 years would be lost. You never know how old materials will respond to new ink, pa...

Stranger Than Fiction
Saw this on Thanksgiving with my family, and quite enjoyed it. I had checked out a few reviews on RottenTomatoes, and the common remarks that stuck with me were on the subject of Will Ferrell being "boring" as a boring IRS agent, and that the film was kind of a poor man's Charlie Kaufman. I disagree...

I concur with Kazu and Amy. (Eva Green was gorgeous without all the makeup... :) ) I also felt the unevenness of the pacing, and the flatness of the romance, but overall I enjoyed the movie immensely. Daniel Craig kicked major butt and totally reignited the cool toughness of Bond. I'd love to see th...
