I think it will change things. It's much more common to see a "graphic novel" section in bookstores than it was ten or even five years ago. The biggest problem comics face is the perception that they are limited to a very narrow set of genres. Another Batman movie certainly isn't going to change tha...

If you use a browser that can magnify it, you can see when they replace a rectangle in the middle with a higher-rez version.

And it runs in Flash, if that's what you were asking.

I remember reading about this a few years ago, when they first made the goats. One phrase I loved from that article was "attempts at farming spiders proved unsuccessful" or something along those lines. Heh. Gotta love the image of a room full of caged spiders; Little feed troughs, all filled with bu...

Phil: I did read Understanding Comics . While it's a big proponent of the idea of visual language, it doesn't spend much time on the specifics. From what I've heard, I think the upcoming Making Comics will be what I'm looking for. Jason: I think the emaki forums were where I found the second of the ...

Visual language vocabulary

I'm looking for "how to draw comics" stuff that isn't so much actual drawing, but more along the lines of "visual language," type stuff. Will Eisner's stuff covers a lot of what I'm talking about, but I shouldn't rely solely on one person. Can anyone suggest other books or websites that get into wha...

In all honesty, just like with the cartoon syndicates, it is probably the goal of certain illustrators and photographers to be represented by a stock agency. Some see that as the end product, the goal representing success, and the lack of royalties or real professional payment as a sort of business...

If all it takes to "turn" you gay is a comic book, then you probably should be gay.

Yeah. Mysterious Cities of Gold is the one childhood cartoon that I still think is kind of cool. (Of course, I watched it on the French channel, so it was Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or)

I'd agree that the robot could stand to be a little cooler in the last panel. That would strengthen the "revenge fantasy" aspect of this moment.

Plus, I'm loath to disagree with Kazu, (whose art is superior to mine in every way) but I quite like the inking.
