The Creator Series

Thursday, October 27th, 2005 by Kean

On Monday Nov. 7, Ryan North and I will be speaking at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario as part of their Creator Series of talks for students and the general public. We’ll be talking about online comics as well as print comics like Flight, answering your questions and all sorts of other fun things. It’s open to the public, so if you’re in the Hamilton area, we would love it if you came. I hear there will be high fives given out in abundance, so it will be an entertaining evening for sure! Full details over on qwantz.com.

The Flight 3 cover image has made a sneaky cameo on Jeff Rowland’s Wigu.

Wigu!

Flight also made a brief appearance on TV courtesy of the nice folks at the Drawn! blog. While discussing the work of Matthew Forsythe and Hope Larson on G4TV’s Attack of the Show, the Flight book lurked suspiciously on a table.

Rodolphe Guenoden

Rodolphe Guenoden has just posted a website featuring his incredible work. Not only is he one of the humblest and friendliest artists I’ve ever met, he can draw circles around just about anybody. Go enjoy his work, and I’m happy that people can now stumble onto it via the internets…

So Many Splendid Sundays

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005 by Neil Babra

There are two great new books which collect material that has served as a life-long inspiration to many of the Flight artists, and should be of interest to anyone who enjoys comics at all. Little Nemo in Slumberland, from Sunday Press Books, presents Windsor McCay’s inimitable fantasies in their original newspaper-size format for the first time in a hundred years, and The Complete Calvin & Hobbes finally assembles Bill Watterson’s magnum opus in a definitive three-volume set. (We hear you can get a pretty good deal on it at CostCo!)

Night of the Italian Ferry

Enrico Casarosa posted a very charming journal comic about his trip from Genoa to Sardegna in Italy.
